A Bit About Us

A Fun Approach to Traditional Scouting

Here at Boy Scout Troop 393, we know that getting children prepared for the world doesn't have to be boring, So we add a lot of fun into the mix and that is what makes us one of the best troops in the Three Harbors Council. Scouting has been around since 1910, and Troop 393 carries that legacy with pride and dignity more than one hundred years later.

Our troop has always loved camping and going on outings, but more recently, we have been working on more high-adventure camps and trips. We try to go on campouts as much as we can where we integrate the fun and learning together. For example, we would go on a long hike, but we learn about lashings and nature on that hike. We recently got the honor of being selected for the Philmont 2022 scout jamboree, so we worked on training and being prepared for that awesome experience. To be as prepared as we can, we planned on doing one hike a week with and without gear. Getting to go on this amazing experience helped motivate our scouts to go further. Our Troop didn't stop there though, recently we have also gotten the opportunity to attend BSA Sea Base St. Thomas in the summer of 2024. Our troop has selected twelve participants to go down and sail in the Caribbean islands. We also try to have rank advancement workshops every other month or so to encourage all of our scouts to make it to the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.

So, from our family to yours, Welcome to our troop!
